Zach's Plan
Like many grooms-to-be, Zach wanted every detail to feel intentional.
Rather than simply getting down on one knee during a walk on the beach, he envisioned an experience.
A pathway lined with candles.
Dozens upon dozens of red roses.
Champagne waiting after the proposal.
A secluded stretch of sand.
And of course, Sam had absolutely no idea.
Because the proposal happened near sunset, timing was everything.
The soft evening light created beautiful colors across the sky while still giving us enough daylight to document the proposal naturally before transitioning into romantic twilight portraits.
The Perfect Sunset
Photographers often talk about "golden hour," but proposals don't always happen during perfect weather.
On this evening, the sky gave us something even better.
Soft clouds diffused the light, creating rich pastel colors across the horizon while preserving beautiful skin tones throughout the entire session.
Those conditions allowed us to photograph everything—from the proposal itself to the celebration afterward—without harsh shadows or squinting.
