Laurita Winery Wedding | Shelby and Jamie's Wedding Day
Shelby and Jamie's wedding day was short of perfect. The details for this wedding alone are definitely Pinterest worthy, but the emotion throughout the day was on another level. They got ready at the Inn at Laurita Winery, which has a very rustic feel to it. The day also featured some beautiful weather, which was a god send since the forecast called for rain. Now, a Laurita Winery Wedding would not be complete without some dramatic portraits by the vineyard which is exactly what we did. This Laurita Winery Wedding also featured a stunning ceremony backdrop as you will see below. Now I always ask my brides if they want to write a little blurb about their relationship and the wedding planning, so here you go!"
We met at a club (Jamie stalked me, as I always joke) but I was the one that said hi to her first, and we spent the rest of the night dancing, talking, and drinking! We exchanged numbers at the end of the night, and I texted her a few days later, which led to us becoming Myspace friends. We kept in touch through myspace, and Jamie finally asked me on a date. I cancelled on her last minute, and felt so terrible about it I went out and bought a chocolate cake, met up with her at a parkway rest stop that night and gave her the cake to apologize (I knew I could’t just let that be it!) We talked for a bit, and I was so nervous I left so fast. She instantly texted me and said, “That’s it?” I drove back to her, and the night ended with a kiss. Fast forward through a bunch of nights out drinking, dining, dancing, and sleepovers together, days spent doing nothing and everything together, finding a house, moving in, driving each other absolutely insane and having our love still grow, and here we are today, more in love than ever!
Our wedding planning started as soon as we got engaged (in my mind at least!) We knew we weren’t into anything super traditional, and wanted things done our own way. We contemplated a simple rustic and intimate backyard wedding, but knew we also loved the idea of sharing our first meal together (as a married couple), in one room, surrounded by our closest loved ones. Laurita was the first, and only place we went to visit. Having the dining room separate from the main room was just the intimacy we were looking for. It was far from a traditional wedding ballroom, and had so much character and charm, we were instantly sold. Everything we used to decorate was handmade, created through artists, crafters, and some really awesome people I found through Etsy. We didn’t believe in wasting a bunch of money on things we will never see again, so I had a plan to repurpose every item we used to decorate, from the hand crocheted isle runner rugs, to the glued together handle stick centerpieces with lace flowers. Our bouquets were made from dried, burlap, and lace flowers, so we can treasure them forever. Out of everything, we for sure enjoyed the food and cake tasting the most! It was a long planning process, and we couldn’t have imagined it coming together as beautifully as it did…..aside from being about an hour late for the photos haha!"
Thank You Shelby for the wonderful write up! Special thanks to my second shooter Kristen Driscoll! I hope everyone enjoys the photos!
