Timeless Memories at Allaire State Park – A Monmouth County Family Photographer’s Perspective
Monmouth County Family Photographer – Delgado Studios
As a Monmouth County family photographer, there’s nothing more fulfilling than watching a family grow and documenting their story over the years. Recently, I had the joy of photographing Jake and Jack — two amazing brothers I’ve been capturing for more than a decade — during a beautiful family session at Allaire State Park.
When I first met Jake and Jack, they were just little kids full of energy and curiosity. I still remember their first family session — lots of giggles, running around, and the occasional silly face for the camera. Fast forward ten years, and they’ve grown into confident young men, but that same brotherly bond and playfulness still shines through every photo. Watching them grow up through my lens has been one of the greatest honors of my career.
For this year’s session, we chose Allaire State Park, one of my favorite Monmouth County locations for family photography. The park’s mix of rustic charm, historic buildings, and wide-open fields creates the perfect environment for both candid and posed moments. The light that filters through the trees in the late afternoon is soft and golden — ideal for that timeless, natural look that I love to deliver for every family I photograph.
We started the afternoon walking through the historic village, where the weathered brick buildings and old fences added a sense of nostalgia to the session. Jake and Jack couldn’t resist racing each other down the path, and I captured a few shots mid-laugh that perfectly encapsulated their relationship. Their parents watched on, smiling and laughing — the kind of authentic family connection that can’t be staged.
As the sun began to dip lower, we made our way to the open fields. This is where the magic really happened. The boys ran through the tall grass while the golden light poured in behind them, creating soft, glowing tones that made each frame feel like a painting. Jake picked up a stick and began drawing in the dirt while Jack chased after a few early evening fireflies — two small but beautiful moments that said everything about the simplicity of childhood.
Over the years, I’ve learned that great family photography is built on trust and connection. Because I’ve been photographing Jake and Jack for so long, they feel completely comfortable in front of my camera. They know our sessions are about having fun and being themselves — not forced smiles or stiff poses. That level of comfort allows me to capture genuine emotion and natural storytelling in every image.
When their mom saw the finished gallery, she told me it brought back so many memories from their very first shoot together. Hearing that reminded me why I love what I do. Being a Monmouth County family photographer isn’t just about taking pictures — it’s about preserving the laughter, love, and fleeting moments that make every family unique.
