I have photographed quite a few weddings at the Palace by now, so when Lauren's mom Debbie reached out to me about her daughter's wedding, I knew I would feel right at home. Photographing a wedding at the Palace for me can be challenging since I am always trying to create something unique for my couples. Well mission accomplished. Lauren got ready at their bridal suite which is very lovely, except it has no windows. Whenever I myself in difficult lighting situations I try to create my own interesting light. D'Antwan got ready in a nearby hotel, where my second shooter for the day Nick did a great job capturing the groom and his buddies. We decided to have their first look at the terrace of the Palace, right outside the Gatsby room. Let me tell you, this room is amazing for photos. Great light and nice dark walls, what more can you ask for? Now getting back to the first look. We captured three different angles, and the third is of course my favorite. D'Antwan was ecstatic to see his gorgeous bride, and she was just that. Lauren reminds me of a young Elizabeth Taylor in a way, and although I am not nearly old enough to be alive in her youth, I have seen photos and yes...thats a massive compliment! After the first look we took care of some bridal party photos and then preceded to take some bad ass portraits of the two of them. Whenever I get enough time, I like to break out the heavy duty lighting and create something unique for my couples. We did just that. Their ceremony took place at the same spot they had their first look, and what a back drop! The reception was just as beautiful and it featured some emotional parent dances and of course lots of dancing. Lauren and D'Antwan, congratulations! Enjoy the pics everyone!!
