Perona Farms Wedding | Alex and Charles

This is the first Perona Farms Wedding I have photographed and what a treat it was.  Alex and Charles were amazing to work with.  They are a young fun loving couple who just go with the flow.  For this Perona Farms Wedding, Alex and Charles got ready at different locations.  Alex got ready at a hotel with her girls, while Charles got all spiffy at Perona Farms.   They had their first look at the venue across the street.  The beautiful row of trees made for a great backdrop.  Charles was not afraid to show emotion, and I always find that to be a great quality in a man..especially one thats about the same height as me.   The cermony took place at the venue of course, and again..a beautiful backdrop thanks to mother nature.  The weather was amazing and the skies were blue..what more can you ask for?   The reception went off without a hitch.  A Perona Farms wedding is not complete without the barn IMHO, it makes for a unique environment for a wedding reception.

Now for a little bit about these two newly weds, here is a blurb from the bride:

“Charlie and I met at a mutual friend’s house our sophomore year of high school, but the timing wasn’t right. The next year we were at that same friend’s house for a meet-up before we went to the school’s homecoming dance. Charlie and I hit it off right away, and we danced and talked all night. That weekend I made the first move and contacted him so he could have my phone number. We talked for a while and then the day after his birthday he found me and asked me out for a real date (he had tried to find me on his birthday to ask but I got to school late) We have been together ever since!

Early on in our relationship we knew that we wanted to get married, but since we were only in high school we decided that post graduate school would be the best time for a wedding. However, we were going to be apart for the next four years in college and decided that being engaged might make the distance easier. After our senior prom, we went to Long Beach Island (as is tradition in our high school and many others in the state) to Charlie’s beach house. We were still dressed up from prom and it was late at night, so I kept falling asleep in the car. But Charlie told me that I had to stay awake for one last dance under the stars. We got to the house and up on the roof, and Charlie had decorated the chairs with flowers and a light. Charlie put music on and we danced, and before I knew it he was on one knee asking me to marry him! I honestly don’t know if I even actually said ‘yes’ because I instantly started crying— he had to help me put the ring on because I couldn’t see through the tears!

We were apart for the next three years while we were away at college, luckily I was able to graduate a year early and then we moved in together. Over the next two years of living together and attending graduate school we planned the wedding. It was definitely tricky to do everything from another state but we accomplished a lot on every vacation back home! We were very glad we could spread the planning out because graduate school, and our new puppy (Barley!) kept us very busy. Before we knew it, it was time to move back to NJ and get married!”

Thanks for the amazing insight Alex!  As NJ wedding photographers, we had a great time photographing this wedding! Congratulations again and I hope everyone enjoys the photos!
