There are certain wedding days that stay with you long after the last song has played and the lights have dimmed—and Amy and Scott’s celebration was absolutely one of them. Amy and Scott’s ceremony took place at Kirkpatrick Chapel on the Rutgers University campus, and if you’ve never been there, it is truly a hidden gem in New Jersey.

Portraits at Divine Park: Natural, Relaxed, and Timeless
After the ceremony, we headed over to Divine Park for portraits, and this is where the day really started to open up creatively.
I’m a big believer that portraits should never feel like a chore. This is one of the few times during the day where couples get to slow down, breathe, and actually be together. My approach is always a mix of guidance and freedom—I’ll give direction when needed, but I want the moments to feel natural, not posed.
Divine Park gave us the perfect backdrop. Open space, beautiful greenery, and just enough variety to create a diverse set of images without having to rush from location to location.
Amy and Scott were completely in the moment, and it showed. Their connection was effortless, which makes all the difference in photography. You can have the best location in the world, but if the couple isn’t comfortable, it won’t translate. These two made my job easy.

One of the highlights of the night was stepping away for a few nighttime portraits inside The Mill. This is something I always try to incorporate when the timeline allows.
Night photography brings a completely different mood—more dramatic, more cinematic, and often more intimate. Using off-camera lighting, I’m able to create images that feel polished and artistic while still staying true to the moment.
The Mill offers some fantastic opportunities for this, from its interior spaces to the subtle ambient lighting that adds depth and character to the images.
