Weddings at The Imperia | Sandra and Joe's Big Day

Sandra and Joe's wedding was one for the ages.  These two got engaged very shortly after they met.  Sometimes you just know..no reason to wait.  Weddings at The Imperia have always been lots of fun to photograph.  Weddings at The Imperia have also been a great experience for everyone.  A wonderful staff and great accommodations make this a crowd pleasure.  Now for more on Sandra and Joe, here's a blurb from the bride!"A little over two years ago. we met at the Exxon/Mobil gas station were he worked as a manager, at that time.  I had never seen a man so happy and perky at 5:00 a.m. in my life and some mornings I have to say I dreaded it because I am far from being a morning person.  We started talking and getting to know one another as friends.  During that time, I didn't know he was talking with a co-worker and saying he knew that I was going to be his wife someday.  His co-worker thought he was crazy.  He always made sure he pumped my gas every time I came into the gas station.  As time went on, I eventually decided to get up enough nerve to ask him out for a beer, not knowing that he wanted to do the same but just was too shy.  After I asked him, he stood there for a few seconds staring out into space with his arms crossed, and then said yes.  The thing that got me was he didn't remember my name when he asked for my number!!!  We went to dinner that night and had a great time.  Around five weeks later (on my 50th birthday), he proposed to me.  It was very special.  He set up a room in the hotel we were staying at and filled it with candles and a had a fire burning with flowers on the fireplace.  He was such a nervous wreck that night and I knew he was up to something.  At that point, I knew he was going to propose because he kept on asking me how I felt about marriage and other questions relating to that.  A month later, he and his father moved in with me and then around a year and a half later we were married.  We have experienced a lot of ups and downs since we've met, but we both feel that we can work through anything that comes our way because our love for each other is so strong.

The planning process was not easy because not only were we planning the wedding here with family and friends, we were also planning a ceremony ( retie the knot) on our honeymoon in Antigua.  That one was a lot easier to organize than the one here.  Too much drama was happening with the bridal party during the whole process (father in law not wearing a tux, bridesmaid not coming to any of the events the girls planned, dresses didn't fit right once they came in, tuxedoes had to be reordered twice, almost forgot the marriage license, passport came in for Joe a week before we left for Antigua, etc.).

Our friends and family still can't believe that we are still together because everything happened so fast.  We both felt that it was the right thing and felt very comfortable in our decisions.  We feel we both have good communication skills and that we think is a big part of having a good marriage amongst other things.
