Jersey Shore Proposal | Matthew and Taylor
As a photographer, I get the honor of witnessing some of life’s most emotional and unforgettable moments. One of my recent favorites was Matthew and Taylor’s beautifully planned jersey shore proposal at Point Pleasant Beach—right behind Jenkinson’s Inlet Bar. If you’re looking for real inspiration, this one had everything: a perfect ocean backdrop, an emotional surprise, and some seriously thoughtful details.
When Matthew reached out to me, he had a vision. He wanted to create a moment that Taylor would never forget, and he wanted it to be a complete surprise. The plan? Her parents would invite her out for a casual beach day and gently guide her toward a designated spot in the sand—where Matthew would be waiting with a gorgeous proposal setup.
By the time I arrived to capture the scene, Matthew had already been hard at work transforming a quiet section of beach into something magical. There was a chalkboard propped up in the sand with the words “Will you marry me?” beautifully handwritten. A walkway lined with white roses led right to the board. The entire scene was simple, romantic, and incredibly heartfelt—everything a jersey shore proposal should be.
I stayed tucked away nearby with my gear, ready to document it all. As Taylor approached with her parents, you could see the moment she noticed something was going on. First confusion… then realization… and then sheer joy. By the time she reached the rose-lined path, her eyes were already welling up. Matthew stepped forward, took her hands, and dropped to one knee.
It was one of those picture-perfect moments that I live for as a photographer. The ocean breeze, the golden hour light, and the raw emotion between them—it all came together so naturally. And yes, she said yes!
What made this jersey shore proposal so special wasn’t just the thoughtful setup or the beautiful location—it was the genuine connection between two people and the love of their families who helped pull it all off. Moments like these remind me how much meaning photography can hold. Being able to freeze this kind of emotion in time is an incredible feeling.
For anyone out there planning their own jersey shore proposal, my advice is to personalize it. Think about what makes your relationship unique, and then build a proposal that reflects that. Whether it’s a beach at sunset, a meaningful quote on a chalkboard, or a path of roses—what matters most is the intention behind it.
I’ve photographed proposals all over New Jersey, but there’s something truly magical about the shore. If you’re thinking of planning a jersey shore proposal and want it captured with emotion and artistry, I’d love to help bring your vision to life.
Let’s create something unforgettable—your perfect jersey shore proposal is just a few steps away.
