Micro Wedding Photographers in New Jersey

As the founder and lead photographer at Delgado Studios, I’ve had the privilege of documenting weddings of all shapes and sizes. Over the years, I’ve photographed lavish ballroom receptions, rustic barn celebrations, and intimate backyard vows. But one of my absolute favorite types of events to capture are micro weddings. Being among the most trusted micro wedding photographers in New Jersey has allowed me to experience some truly special celebrations—like the unforgettable day I spent with Odalys and Joshua this past August at Deep Cut Gardens in Middletown, NJ.

Their wedding took place on a gorgeous summer afternoon. The air was warm, the flowers were in bloom, and Deep Cut Gardens was glowing with color. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Odalys and Joshua exchanged vows in the garden’s charming gazebo. With only their inner circle present, the ceremony felt intimate, emotional, and filled with authentic connection. As I stood behind my lens, I couldn’t help but reflect on how much I enjoy the unique energy of smaller weddings. They allow for deeper storytelling, which is exactly what drives my work as a micro wedding photographer in New Jersey.

The beauty of a micro wedding is that it strips away the rush and pressure of a large-scale event. Instead of worrying about hundreds of guests, Odalys and Joshua were able to focus entirely on each other and on the people who mean the most to them. This atmosphere allowed me to capture genuine, candid moments—like the way Joshua teared up when Odalys walked down the aisle, or the smiles on their parents’ faces as they witnessed the exchange of rings. For me, those little moments are the heart of wedding photography.

After the ceremony, we had the luxury of time to create portraits throughout the park. Deep Cut Gardens is one of my favorite Monmouth County locations for photos because of its variety. Within just a short walk, you can find colorful flowerbeds, elegant stone steps, winding garden paths, and secluded wooded areas. We took full advantage of this, creating a mix of natural light portraits and more dramatic images using off-camera flash. This combination gave Odalys and Joshua a gallery filled with both soft, romantic photos and bold, cinematic ones. That balance is something I strive for in every wedding collection, whether I’m photographing a ballroom or a garden.

One of my favorite images from the day was captured just as the sun began to dip lower in the sky. The golden light filtered through the trees, creating a magical glow around Odalys and Joshua. With the addition of off-camera flash, the result was a stunning portrait that felt timeless yet modern. These are the moments that remind me why couples seek out experienced micro wedding photographers in New Jersey—because technical skill and creative vision combine to create images that are truly one of a kind.

As Odalys and Joshua celebrated with their guests, it was clear that their wedding was everything they had hoped for—personal, meaningful, and filled with love. For me, being there to capture those memories was an honor. It’s days like these that remind me why I started Delgado Studios: to tell stories through photography that couples will cherish for years to come.

If you’re planning your own small celebration and searching for micro wedding photographers in New Jersey, I’d love to connect. Micro weddings may be smaller in size, but they’re big on heart—and they deserve to be documented with the same care and artistry as any large-scale event. At Delgado Studios, I focus on delivering images that are authentic, creative, and timeless, so that no matter how intimate your wedding may be, your memories will last forever.
