Weddings at Deep Cut Gardens
Mariss and Jeff
As the founder and lead photographer at Delgado Studios, I’ve had the privilege of capturing weddings in some of New Jersey’s most beautiful locations. One of my absolute favorites is Deep Cut Gardens in Middletown, NJ. This space is a hidden gem, offering lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and a romantic atmosphere that is perfect for intimate celebrations. Marissa and Jeff’s microwedding was the perfect example of why weddings at Deep Cut Gardens are so special.
This particular wedding took place on a warm August evening, when the gardens were at their peak bloom. The sun cast a golden glow over the grounds, creating the most natural and romantic backdrop a couple could ask for. Marissa and Jeff chose to keep their wedding small and meaningful, surrounded only by close family. What made it even more special was that both Marissa and Jeff’s children were present, standing proudly beside their parents as part of the wedding party. It was a heartfelt reminder that weddings aren’t just about two people coming together—they’re also about blending families and creating new beginnings.
As I photographed their ceremony, I couldn’t help but be moved by the intimacy of the moment. Without a large crowd or distractions, the focus was entirely on their love and the promises they made to one another. The gardens themselves provided a serene atmosphere, filled with the sound of rustling leaves and birdsong. It’s in these quiet moments that I’m reminded of why I love photographing weddings at Deep Cut Gardens—there’s a natural beauty here that elevates even the smallest ceremonies.
After the ceremony, we transitioned into portraits, and this is where Deep Cut Gardens truly shines. With winding pathways, vibrant floral displays, and elegant stone structures, the gardens offer endless opportunities for breathtaking photos. I guided Marissa and Jeff, along with their children, through different areas of the park, taking advantage of the rich colors and textures. From soft, romantic shots among the roses to playful family moments in the open lawns, every corner of the garden seemed to tell its own story.
One of my favorite portraits from the evening was of Marissa and Jeff framed against a cascade of blooming flowers, their joy and love radiating as naturally as the setting around them. Equally touching were the family portraits with their children, which beautifully captured the blending of their lives. These are the kinds of moments that remind me why photography is so much more than pictures—it’s about preserving emotions and memories that families will hold close for generations.
What stood out about this microwedding was its authenticity. There was no grand ballroom, no elaborate décor, just love, family, and nature as the perfect backdrop. It’s a reminder that weddings don’t have to be extravagant to be extraordinary. In fact, some of the most meaningful weddings I’ve photographed are the simplest, where the couple focuses on what matters most: their commitment to each other and the people they love. That’s exactly why I adore photographing weddings at Deep Cut Gardens—the setting allows for that kind of genuine connection to shine through.
As the evening came to a close, the golden hour light bathed the gardens in a dreamy glow. It felt like the perfect ending to such a heartfelt day. For Marissa and Jeff, their wedding wasn’t just about saying “I do”; it was about starting a new chapter as a family. For me, it was an honor to be trusted with capturing those moments, knowing they’ll be cherished forever.
If you’re considering an intimate celebration surrounded by natural beauty, I can’t recommend weddings at Deep Cut Gardens enough. It’s a setting that elevates the romance of a wedding day and creates timeless memories. Whether it’s a large gathering or a small microwedding like Marissa and Jeff’s, this location never fails to deliver stunning backdrops and heartfelt moments.
At Delgado Studios, my goal is always to tell each couple’s story in the most authentic and beautiful way possible. Photographing weddings in places like Deep Cut Gardens makes that mission effortless.
