NJ Engagement Party Photographer | Anna and Alec

As the founder and lead photographer at Delgado Studios, I’ve had the honor of documenting all kinds of celebrations, but Anna and Alec’s engagement party in Englewood Cliffs was truly something special. As a NJ engagement party photographer, I get to witness love in all its forms, and this event was a beautiful mix of deep cultural traditions, elegant design, and genuine joy.

The party took place at the home of Anna’s parents — a breathtaking estate tucked away in the hills of Englewood Cliffs, NJ. When I arrived to begin documenting, the scene was already vibrant. A large white tent stood in the sprawling backyard, with florals and soft string lighting draped throughout. Guests were starting to arrive, dressed to the nines, and the music was already setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable evening.

About 80 guests filled the space, mostly close family and friends from Anna and Alec’s Armenian community. What struck me immediately was the warmth — not just from the summer sun, but from the way people greeted each other, hugged, laughed, and celebrated as if they’d known one another for generations. Being a NJ engagement party photographer allows me to step into these moments of connection, and there’s nothing more rewarding than capturing them in their truest form.

One of the highlights of the evening was the traditional Armenian engagement ceremony. It was rich with symbolism and emotion. The families came together to bless the couple, exchange gifts, and formally announce their engagement in front of loved ones. It was a beautiful nod to heritage, and it reminded me of the importance of blending tradition with celebration. I made sure to capture the fine details — the ceremonial bread, the symbolic red and green ribbons, and the emotional expressions of both sets of parents.

The food was another standout of the night. Traditional Armenian dishes were passed around — from dolma to kebabs and fresh lavash — all prepared with evident love and care. Guests mingled over wine and laughter, while the DJ kept the energy high with a mix of Armenian dance music and popular hits. Once the dancing started, the party really took off. There were moments of pure, uninhibited joy on the dance floor — moments I live to capture.

As a NJ engagement party photographer, my goal is to make each gallery tell the full story of the day — not just what it looked like, but what it felt like. For Anna and Alec’s celebration, that meant weaving together candid interactions, emotional family moments, high-energy dance scenes, and intimate portraits. The golden hour light was perfect for a few romantic photos of the couple around the property, just before sunset cast a warm glow over the entire estate.

This night was a reminder of why I love what I do. Being invited into such a meaningful celebration, surrounded by tradition, love, and community, is not something I take lightly. At Delgado Studios, we pride ourselves on being more than just photographers — we’re storytellers. And this story, Anna and Alec’s story, was one for the books.

If you’re planning your own celebration and looking for a NJ engagement party photographer who understands how to capture every detail with care, I’d love to connect. Whether it’s in a grand estate or a cozy backyard, every love story deserves to be told beautifully.
