Jersey Shore Engagement Photos
As the founder and lead wedding photographer at Delgado Studios, I’ve had the privilege of photographing countless love stories across New Jersey. Being a top NJ wedding photographer Each engagement session tells its own unique tale, and Gillian and Kevin’s story is one that stands out to me in the best way. Their session took place at a marina in Brick, NJ—a location that was not only scenic but also incredibly meaningful to Kevin, who grew up sailing along the Jersey Shore.
When Kevin shared that we’d have access to his father’s sailboat for the shoot, I knew immediately that this was going to be one of those unforgettable sessions. Boats, docks, and water are all visually interesting on their own, but when you add in the personal connection Kevin has to sailing, it elevated the photos into something much deeper. The result was a collection of images that perfectly balanced romance, storytelling, and the beauty of the Jersey Shore. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love capturing Jersey Shore engagement photos.
We started the afternoon walking around the marina, using the boats and quiet docks as backdrops. The weather was ideal—the kind of late-summer evening where the sunlight feels warm but not overpowering. Gillian and Kevin were naturals in front of the camera. From the way they laughed together to the small, tender moments when they held hands, their chemistry was undeniable. I always encourage couples to simply enjoy each other during a session, and that’s exactly what they did.
The highlight, without a doubt, came when we stepped onto Kevin’s father’s sailboat. There’s something magical about photographing a couple on the water as the sun begins to set. The reflections danced across the waves, the breeze caught Gillian’s hair just right, and Kevin looked completely at home behind the ropes and sails. Together, they created the kind of effortless romance that every photographer dreams of capturing. These images on the boat are the kind that tell a story far beyond a posed picture—they speak to who they are as a couple and the life they’re building together.
As the evening went on, the sky transformed into a canvas of oranges, pinks, and purples. It was a reminder of just how breathtaking the Jersey Shore can be. Whether I was photographing wide shots of the sailboat against the horizon or close, intimate portraits of Gillian and Kevin leaning into each other, the setting gave us endless opportunities for creativity. It’s exactly why I encourage couples to think outside of the box when planning their Jersey Shore engagement photos—sometimes the most meaningful locations lead to the most stunning galleries.
What I loved most about this session was how personal it felt. Engagement photos should reflect not just the love a couple shares, but also their personalities, hobbies, and histories. For Gillian and Kevin, the marina and the sailboat were more than beautiful props—they were a part of Kevin’s life story, now woven into their shared journey. Capturing that significance was an honor for me as a photographer.
When people picture Jersey Shore engagement photos, their minds often jump to sandy beaches or boardwalks. While those are classic choices, sessions like Gillian and Kevin’s show that there are endless possibilities along the Shore. Whether it’s a marina, a favorite hiking spot, or even a backyard that holds special meaning, the most memorable engagement photos come from choosing a place that feels true to your story.
I couldn’t be happier for Gillian and Kevin as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives. Their engagement session was not only beautiful but deeply meaningful, and I feel privileged to have documented it. If you’re recently engaged and looking for inspiration, I’d love to work with you to create your own timeless Jersey Shore engagement photos.
